Our Mission
To accomplish the goals set forth in our school's vision, the staff, parents, and community partners of Fairlawn Elementary Community School have established the following mission: increase collaboration among staff to promote professional development, mentor and coach, maintain high staff morale, and enhance teaching and learning practices to create a positive working relationship with our community. Target less proficient students in each of the academic areas so that they too, can become fluent readers, accomplished writers, critical and creative thinkers, problem solvers, scientific investigators, and productive citizens in society. Communication between home and school will be enhanced through a variety of media in an effort to increase and improve the quality of parental involvement at the school.
Our Vision
At Fairlawn, caring and learning go hand-in-hand. We have high expectations for each of our students and are committed to providing a challenging environment. It is our firm belief that all of our students will learn and develop the confidence in their ability to succeed. The staff, parents, and community envision the intellectual development of our students through cooperative learning and effective instruction to maximize our educational efforts while being responsive to the diverse needs of each learner. At Fairlawn Elementary Community School, our after school programs will serve as an extension of the school day integrating basic concepts and relevant curriculum.
Our Principal
I would like to personally welcome all members of our community to Fairlawn Elementary Community School. It is both an honor and a pleasure to serve as principal of this special school. I consider the responsibility of educating youth, our school's primary objective and a task of the highest importance. It is for that reason that we employ a highly trained staff comprised of administrators, professional educators, and other non-instructional personnel who are essential in providing a safe and effective learning environment. Together, our staff will ensure that students of all ages ranging from Pre-Kindegarten to the wonderful senior citizens who attend classes through our community school will receive a quality education. I would like to end by saying "thank you and congratulations" to our students, parents, staff, and members of our community as Fairlawn Elementary Community School has once again earned an "A" on the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test (FCAT). This marks the sixth consecutive year that our school has achieved the state's highest grade. Once again, my sincerest welcome and I look forward to meeting all of you.
